If Tottenham signed Leonardo da Silva Lopes, should they loan him straight back to Peterborough United?

That is what they did with Dele Alli when he signed from MK Dons.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Peterborough United talent Leonardo da Silva Lopes.

The Sun reported yesterday that Spurs were leading the way to sign the 17-year-old talent, who has impressed at London Road.

So could he be the next Dele Alli at Spurs?

Tottenham beat several rival clubs to the signature of teenage Alli in January 2015.

He had emerged as the top young talent in League One, just as Lopes appears to be doing with the Posh right now.

The two are both talented midfield operators, although Lopes appears to be more defensive minded than Alli, but the comparisons are certainly apparent.

Spurs would certainly have an immense talent on their hands if they signed him up – but they would do well to take lessons from their Alli transfer.

If they were to sign him immediately loaning him back to London Road would be a wise decision.

He is still very inexperienced, having only played 21 senior games for the club.

Spurs would certainly be investing in their future with his signature and then loaning him out, as they did with Alli previously.

If they did so, they could have another such talent on their hands.
