Swansea have confirmed that Bob Bradley is the new manager of the Welsh club, replacing Francesco Guidolin.

The Swans were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool on Saturday, having led 1-0 at half time, and the defeat signalled the end for the Italian manager, who was relieved of his duties on Monday morning.

Swansea have had a rough start to the Premier League season, recording just one win so far, which came on the opening weekend away at Burnley. Since then, Guidolin’s side only picked up one point, drawing 2-2 with Chelsea.

With the club in 17th place, only out of the relegation zone due to goal difference, Swansea have decided to go in a different direction, replacing Guidolin with former USA manager Bradley, who will become the first American to manage in the Premier League.

The New Jersey-born boss was in charge of French club Le Havre, but has been given permission to make a move to the Premier League. The 58-year-old has also managed MLS clubs Chicago Fire, MetroStars and Chivas USA, as well as leading the Egyptian national team for two years.

On a turbulent day for Swansea fans, they have taken to Twitter to react to the appointment of their new manager.
