Liverpool thrashed the Tigers 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Anfield played host yesterday as Jurgen Klopp's side minced the Tigers to maintain their superb start to the Premier League season.
Left-back Milner added Liverpool's second goal from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark, after Ahmed Elmohamady was red carded for a deliberate handball.
Sadio Mane struck a third before half time as the Reds looked in cruise control against 10-man City, who did pull one back through David Meyer early in the second period.
But further efforts from Philippe Coutinho, and another penalty from Milner, saw Liverpool put the gloss on an emphatic result, with an emphatic performance to boot.
In truth, there were a number of players who could have won Man of the Match, but Le Tissier has singled out the former Manchester City midfielder with what he claims was a "fantastic performance" from him.
He told Sky Sports: "My man of the match - James Milner. Playing at left-back, he scored two penalties and had a big influence on this football match. Fantastic performance from him and my man of the match."
Liverpool, who have now scored 16 goals from their six games, second only to Manchester City with 18, sit fourth in the Premier League table, five points behind Pep Guardiola's boys, who have a 100% record from their six outings.
