Mourinho has continued to hit back at his critics, suggesting that modern football is “full of Einsteins.”

Since his return to English football with Chelsea, and even towards the end of his tenure as Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho has seemingly created a siege mentality at the clubs he has managed.
The Portuguese chooses to create an atmosphere of ‘us against the world’, as he frequently questions the actions of referees and the FA themselves.

It appears Mourinho is keen to continue in this fashion, despite many suggesting that this is the key reason he has struggled to continue his success at clubs into a third season.
Mourinho was quick to attack his critics again on Wednesday night as he was interviewed by MUTV in the wake of their 3-1 EFL Cup victory against Northampton Town.
After suffering three straight defeats for the first time since he was Porto manager prior to that cup victory, he told MUTV: “I can understand clearly the disappointment. If the fans have been disappointed with the last week, I understand completely but I am sure they will be behind the team like they always are.
“We had a bad week. I know that the world is full of Einsteins, I know that they tried to delete 16 years of my career, they tried to delete an unbelievable history of Manchester United football club and to focus on a bad week with three bad results. But that’s the new football, it’s full of Einsteins.”
Mourinho’s side take on Premier League champions Leicester City on Saturday, and Mourinho will be hoping United can get back on track.
Fans will feel the best way for their manager to answer his and the team’s critics, will be their performance on the pitch.
