Queens Park Rangers did not make a move for Conor Hourihane two years ago, but Barnsley did…

Neil Warnock has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 14th September, that he recommended Conor Hourihane to Queens Park Rangers two years ago.
Hourihane was a free agent back in 2014, when his contract at Plymouth Argyle came to an end.
Barnsley acted quickest to sign the central midfielder, and he has turned out to be a brilliant buy.
Hourihane is now captain of the Tykes, and he appears to be one of the stand out players in the Championship.

The 25-year-old has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and Warnock believes that he could have been at Loftus Road, if the board had listened to his advice.
“There’s a lad at Barnsley called Connor Hourihane, who I recommended to QPR a couple of years ago – but they took no notice of it,” Warnock said.

Hourihane has scored twice and made five assists in his first six Championship appearances this season.
The Irish midfielder’s form has been a major reason behind Barnsley’s impressive start to the season, which has lifted them into third place in the Championship table.
QPR, meanwhile, are in 14th place – after losing 6-0 to Newcastle United yesterday evening.
