Kris Commons is not part of the Celtic squad for the 2016-17 Champions League group stage.

David Provan has suggested in The Scottish Sun that Kris Commons should have been included in Celtic’s Champions League squad.
Celtic will kick off their 2016-17 European campaign with an away match against Barcelona on Tuesday evening.
Commons will not feature in the Group C game at Camp Nou, as he has not been included in the Bhoys’ Champions League squad.
The 33-year-old attacking midfielder, who has been on the books of the Scottish Premiership giants since 2011, has not featured in a competitive game so far this season.
The former Nottingham Forest and Derby County had an operation for a back problem at the tail end of last term, as reported by BBC Sport.

Former Celtic winger Provan believes that Commons should have included in the Hoops’ Champions League squad.
“Ahead of Celtic’s trip to the Nou Camp, I don’t understand the omission of Kris Commons from the Champions League squad,” Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun.
“At 33, Commons is on borrowed time but he remains the most gifted No10 Celtic have, if only as an impact sub.
“Having failed to sign a creative midfielder in the window Brendan Rodgers is short of craft which Commons could provide.”

Commons is a very good attacking midfielder, but Celtic have done well without him.
Perhaps Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believes that he has enough players in his squad to take the place of the Scotsman.
Maybe the 33-year-old is not still not 100% fit and Rodgers does not want to take a risk.
