Brian McBride says that Gerard Deulofeu has not played well for Everton so far this season.

Brian McBride said on the ESPN FC show on BT Sport/ESPN on Wednesday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, September 7, 2016) that Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu has not played well so far this season.

“Deulofeu, of course, really hasn’t done much this season,” said the former USA international striker, who played on loan for Everton from Columbus Crew in 2003, on the ESPN FC show on BT Sport/ESPN on Wednesday afternoon (broadcast from 12pm, September 7, 2016). “You could see the spark in games from him.”

Deulofeu is one of the best young players on the books of Everton at the moment, and is a very promising and talented footballer.

The 22-year-old winger has not scored a single goal in two Premier League appearances for the Toffees so far this season.

The Spain international has been able to create only two chances for the Merseyside outfit so far this campaign.

It is clear that the youngster needs to step up his game, and Everton fans should be confident that Deulofeu will do just that in the coming weeks and months.

During the 2015-16 campaign, the former Barcelona winger scored two goals and created 34 chances in 26 Premier League matches for Everton.

The Toffees have made a strong start to the season and find themselves fourth in the league table at the moment.

The Merseyside outfit will return to action on Monday evening when they take on Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League.
