Moussa Sissoko: Everton or Tottenham?

Confusion surrounds the future of Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, with Everton and Tottenham vying for his signature.

The French international midfielder, 27, is allegedly set for Everton according to Sky Sports, who report that the Toffees have agreed a deal of £30m to land him before tonight's deadline.

However, The Chronicle report that a bidding war has been sparked as Tottenham also want to sign the midfielder, with the Daily Mail adding that he prefers a move to White Hart Lane due to the Champions League football on offer – meaning that this one could go down to the wire tonight.

Naismith to Sunderland off

According to the Daily Record, Norwich City attacker Steven Naismith won't be heading to Sunderland after all despite David Moyes' attempts to land him.

Naismith, 29, worked with Moyes at Everton, and the Sunderland boss had targeted a reunion at the Stadium of Light – but that deal looks to be dead this evening.

It's claimed that a proposed £4m deal has fallen through as terms couldn't be agreed with all parties, and the deal is unlikely to be revived before 11pm.

West Ham complete deal for World Cup winner

West Ham United have confirmed on their official website that they have snapped up experienced defender Alvaro Arbeloa on a one-year deal.

The 33-year-old has been without a club this summer having been released by Real Madrid at the end of last season, and he arrives to offer an experienced option in Slaven Bilic's defence.

Arbeloa joins having won the Champions League twice and La Liga once with Real Madrid, whilst he has also won the World Cup once and European Championships twice.

West Brom complete Nyom signature

West Bromwich Albion have tonight confirmed on their official website that they have signed Watford defender Allan Nyom on a four-year contract.

Having allowed Cristian Gamboa to join Celtic earlier this week, Tony Pulis needed a new right back – and they've swooped to land Cameroon international Nyom.

The 28-year-old became out of favour under Walter Mazzarri following the signings of Daryl Janmaat and Brice Dja Djedje, and will now compete with Craig Dawson for a place in Pulis' side.
