Celtic are being linked with a shock move for Juventus ace Hernanes.

According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Celtic have made an approach for Juventus playmaker Hernanes in what would be a huge shock of a move.
The Bhoys made it five summer signings earlier today as they landed right back Cristian Gamboa from West Bromwich Albion, adding him to Dorus De Vries, Kolo Toure, Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele.

However, Rodgers may yet make more moves before Wednesday’s transfer deadline, and The Scottish Sun claim that he wants to bring an attacking midfielder to the club.
With that in mind, Italian newspaper La Repubblica report that Celtic have made an approach to Juventus over midfielder Hernanes in an ambitious attempt to land the Brazilian.
Hernanes, who still has plenty left in the locker at 31, made his name with Sao Paulo in his native Brazil, smashing 33 goals in 215 games to earn a 2010 move to Lazio.

Another 40 goals in 154 games cemented him as a top goalscoring midfielder, but moves to Inter Milan and Juventus have seen him slip back into something of a backup role, playing just 14 games in the league for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
Now, despite losing Paul Pogba to Manchester United, Juventus do have Miralem Pjanic in their ranks now, and it’s believed that Hernanes could leave the Turin giants before Wednesday’s deadline.

La Repubblica report that Genoa are interested in signing Hernanes, who has 27 caps for Brazil to his name, and after he snubbed Besiktas as well as clubs in China and the UAE, Celtic are last club to have asked about a deal for him in what would be an ambitious swoop.
Whether Celtic can strike a deal with Juventus remains to be seen, but the lure of regular first-team football and a return to the Champions League could be tempting to Hernanes, who would add some class and quality to the Celtic midfield.
