HITC Sport understands that the Ghana winger has been persuaded by Villa

Big spending Aston Villa have rekindled their bid for Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah, HITC Sport understands.

HITC Sport exclusively revealed last week that Villa had made a move for Adomah, after he rejected the offer of a new three-year deal at Boro – as it was only a small rise on his current package.

Now Villa – who have just signed Bristol City’s Jonathan Kodjia in a deal worth £15million – are ready to spend around £6million on Adomah.

Middlesbrough’s Albert Adomah

Adomah had initially rejected Villa’s advances as he did not want to drop back into the Championship, but HITC Sport understands that Villa came back to the table and after further talks look to be getting their man.

HITC Sport has been told that Middlesbrough are in talks to sign a winger, who they hope to have signed by Wednesday deadline – but whether that is done or not, it will not impact on the Adomah deal – which should now be finalised within the next 24 hours subject to a medical.

Adomah has been with Boro since 2013 when he arrived from Bristol City and has played nearly 150 games for the club.
