Forgotten West Bromwich Albion defender Sebastien Pocognoli is being lined up for a loan move to Brighton & Hove Albion, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

West Brom are ready to let Pocognoli move on as he does not figure in Tony Pulis' plans going forward at the Hawthorns.

The 29-year-old has been frozen out of the first-team picture at West Brom and has not featured for the first-team since March.

Pocognoli is in the final year of his contract at West Brom having joined the club from German side Hannover in the summer of 2014.

The left-back has made just 21 appearances for the Baggies in that time and he is ready to move on in a bid to get his career back on track.

West Brom are looking to offload the likes of Pocognoli, Cristian Gamboa and Callum McManaman before the close of the transfer window as Pulis looks to make room in his squad for new faces.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton is ready to offer Pocognoli an escape route out of West Brom by bringing in the Belgium international to provide cover and competition for Gaetan Bong.
