Aston Villa defender Micah Richards is being linked with a move to Turkish club Trabzonspor this week.

Now it looks as though he will indeed be making the move to Turkey, as reported by Turkish Football.

The report claims that the defender has agreed a one-year loan deal with the club and he should complete the move in the next 48 hours.

Of course Aston Villa fans should be urged to treat this report with caution, as there have been many rumours out of Turkey this summer regarding English football that have had little to no basis.

If Richards were to leave it would mean the end of a disappointing spell at Villa Park for the player.

He arrived on a free transfer last summer from Manchester City but immediately struggled to have a positive impact at the club as they were relegated to the Championship.

It would not be the first time that Richards has headed out on loan abroad, having spent the 2014-15 season out on loan at Italian outfit Fiorentina.

The 28-year-old’s career has been blighted by injuries and poor form in recent years, after initially looking like a future star for club and country.

If not Turkey, then hopefully Richards can find a move that helps him get back to his best.
