According to reports from A Bola, Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon are considering a swoop for Everton full-back Bryan Oviedo.
Oviedo has been a decent player for Everton since joining the Toffees from Copenhagen back in 2012 and it looked like the Costa Rican international would be able to dislodge Leighton Baines as the first choice left-back at Goodison Park during the 2013/14 Premier League season.
However, a devastating leg break suffered during a FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Stevenage back in January 2014 meant that Oviedo has struggled for regular minutes on the pitch over the past few years.
Oviedo has made only 29 Premier League appearances during the last three seasons and while the left-back remains in the long term plans of Everton, he has not quite been able to recapture his best form.
Oviedo has not featured at all for Everton in the Premier League so far this season and there is a suggestion that manager Ronald Koeman is open to allowing the 26-year-old to leave on a temporary basis.
Now according to reports from A Bola, it has been claimed that Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon are currently considering a loan move for Oviedo.
It remains to be seen as to whether Sporting will be able to afford Oviedo’s wages but manager Jorge Jesus is believed to be optimistic that the Costa Rican international will arrive at the Estádio José Alvalade due to the presence of his compatriots Joel Campbell and Bryan Ruiz.
