The Scotland striker could be on his way out of Middlesbrough this summer.
Wolverhampton Wanderers head a queue of clubs chasing Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes, according to Sky Sports.
Rhodes was left out of Boro’s squad which beat Sunderland in Sunday’s Wear-Tees derby, fuelling speculation he could be moved on before next week’s transfer deadline.
The Scotland striker only moved to the Riverside in January from Blackburn Rovers, scoring six goals as the Smoggies secured their promotion as Championship runners-up.
And having found the net 91 times in 189 appearances down in the second tier, a high number of suitors are to be expected.
However, Wolves’ position is currently deemed the most favourable by Sky, following their recent takeover by Chinese conglomerate Fosun International.
Walter Zenga’s side are still looking to add to their squad before the summer window closes and were recently linked with a £20 million move for Benfica playmaker Anderson Talisca, with teammate Luisao still presumed Molineux bound.
They are unlikely, therefore, to struggle when it comes to matching Boro’s demands for Rhodes, for whom they paid £10 million according to Transfermarkt.
