Craig Gordon: 6/10 - The Celtic goalkeeper had little to do, with Motherwell having just seven attempts on goal and only two on target.

Saidy Janko: 7/10 - Spent the majority of the game in the attacking third such was Celtic’s dominance, hugging the right-hand touchline. A few probing crosses without quite managing the killer ball.

Mikael Lustig: 7/10 - Blotted an otherwise empty copybook when he was beaten by Henhegan at a corner which could have proved costly.

Eoghan O’Connell: 7/10 - Marshalled a Motherwell attack that offered very little, dealing with any trouble that came his way calmly and effectively.

Emilio Izaguirre: 8/10 - Wrought havoc in the first-half up the left in conjunction with Scott Sinclair, overlapping at will and helping to give Motherwell defender Richard Tait a torrid evening.

Scott Brown: 8/10 - The captain had an armchair ride for his 72 minutes on the field. Sat deep and dictated the play, feeding balls forward and out wide leaving his attacking force to do the rest. Also went on a driving run which forced a good save from Craig Samson.

Tom Rogic: 9.5/10 - Star man. It looked like Celtic would score whenever the Australian got the ball. Started the game deep before filling in behind Dembele when his side’s dominance took hold. Cut inside on to his left foot with good effect, and put in an excellent run to get on the end of Callum McGregor’s ball for the first goal. Deserved his second goal, a one-yard tap-in.

Callum McGregor: 8/10 - Executed a few probing through-balls for his strikers to run on to, including a deft reverse chip for the opener. Worked tirelessly all evening.

James Forrest: 8/10 - Busy and threatening all evening. Catalyst for the fifth goal by beating his man and firing a shot at Samson which he could only parry to Rogic. Took over the captaincy when Brown departed.

Moussa Dembele: 8.5/10 - Had one shot parried on to the crossbar, before putting his penalty right into the top corner for Celtic’s second and scoring the fourth from a deflection at the second time of asking. Linked excellently with Sinclair on a number of occasions, making searching runs behind the Motherwell defence.

Scott Sinclair: 9.5/10 - A constant threat, and the official Man of the Match. Frightened the living daylights out of the Motherwell players whenever he ran at them. Won the penalty for the second goal, before cutting inside and finishing beautifully himself for the third.

Jamie McCart (Lustig, 70'): 6/10 - Never troubled by the Motherwell attack while he was on the field.

Liam Henderson (Brown, 72'): 6.5/10 - Forced a save from Samson with a low, curling effort heading towards the bottom corner.

Anthony Ralston (Janko, 82'): 6/10 - Not enough time on the field for the 17-year-old to make an impression.
