The midfielder is the only major arrival at Arsenal so far this summer.
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has told ESPN they have signed a complete player in new man Granit Xhaka.
The Switzerland international is the only major arrival at the Emirates so far this summer after they paid Borussia Monchengladbach £30 million for his services.
There is great anticipation about his arrival, with fans having watched him put in several impressive performances for Switzerland at Euro 2016.
They are hoping that he can add the kind of physicality that has been sorely missing from the Arsenal midfield since Patrick Vieira departed the club.
Cech is currently training with him in pre-season and has insisted that his side have signed the complete player.
“[Xhaka] had been brilliant with Basel,” he told ESPN.
“He had [also] been brilliant with Gladbach, so we bought a complete player who definitely improves our squad, and hopefully he will prove that on the pitch.”
It remains to be seen who Xhaka replaces in the Arsenal midfield next season after his arrival this summer.
Given the money they have paid for him, it seems unlikely that he will not be a regular in the midfield.
Who he replaces is a major question though wit the position arguably the one area of the current Arsenal squad which Arsene Wenger has the best options available to him.
