The Hammers have yet to secure a frontman this summer.

West Ham co-owner David Gold has commented on the club’s ongoing search for a striker, in a column on whufc.com.
The Hammers have been frustrated in their pursuit of a marquee frontman so far in this window and Gold has called for patience as they attempt to get a deal over the line.
“Unfortunately, I cannot give any more updates on our pursuit for a new striker,” he said.

“At the moment we are having to be patient, but other clubs are in the same situation and there is still time for us to get the signings we want to add into the squad.”
The club has been linked with a number of high-profile strikers in recent weeks, most notably Alexandre Lacazette and Carlos Bacca, but despite launching several bids they don’t appear close to landing any target.
Alexandre Lacazette
Lyon turned down a £31 million bid for Lacazette back in May, according to Sky Sports, but the Hammers are still thought to be keen on the Frenchman.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports also report that a fee was agreed between West Ham and Milan for the transfer of Carlos Bacca but the deal is yet to be concluded with the Colombian reportedly favouring a move back to former club Sevilla.
Carlos Bacca
The Hammers have been struggling to convince the game’s elite forwards to make the switch to the Olympic Stadium due in no small part to their lack of Champions League football – as David Sullivan explained in a previous column on whufc.com.
Top quality strikers are at a real premium in the current market and West Ham may have to adjust their sights if they are to land anyone at all this summer.
