Joel Campbell has found his playing time limited at Arsenal, and reports have emerged of Valencia’s interest in signing him.
A Spanish report claims that Joel Campbell could be on his way to Valencia
According to a report from Spanish news outlet Estadio Deportivo, Valencia want to bring Arsenal winger Joel Campbell to La Liga, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger willing to sell the Costa Rican.
The 24-year-old was signed for Arsenal five years ago, but has failed to establish himself at The Emirates, spending more time away from the club on loan.
Campbell is a regular for Costa Rica, the dame cannot be said for his role at Arsenal, however
He has mad only 40 appearances for the Gunners, and a move away from the club seems likely if he wants regular first-team football, what with the stiff competition for places at the club in wide attacking areas.
The report from Estadio Deportivo goes on to suggest that Valencia have made their interest in Campbell known to Arsenal and that new manager Pako Ayestaran is interested in bringing the Costa Rica international to the Mestalla.
Campbell made just 11 Premier League starts for the Gunners last term
Campbell would be a useful addition to Los Che, and can play anywhere along the front-line. Their record of just 46 goals in 38 La Liga games last term highlights their need for more fire-power in forward areas, and should a move for the Arsenal man come to fruition, he would be a welcome additional goal threat both from a providing aspect and a goalscoring one.
Valencia should not worry about Campbell taking time to adjust to Spanish style football. The Arsenal forward has vast experience of playing in La Liga after loan spells at both Real Betis and Villarreal.
Would Joel Campbell be a good signing for Valencia?
