Ward was loaned to Rotherham in early July last year, and while he played in a post-season friendly in 2014/15, this is his first chance in a year to impress Mauricio Pochettino first hand.

Ward is 21-years-old and is evidently a player Spurs rate highly given the new contract he recently signed.
Pre-season will provide a fantastic opportunity for him to show what he can do, with Eric Dier, Dele Alli, and Mousa Dembele all set to miss the majority of it due to their Euro 2016 involvement.
In showing how excited he is to get started, Ward demonstrates that mentally he is up to the challenge, and is prepared. Now he needs to show his quality on the pitch.
