Everton are reportedly lining up replacements for Romelu Lukaku.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Everton are interested in Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
The Toffees are set to appoint Southampton’s Ronald Koeman as their new manager in the coming days, and the Dutchman could lose a key player this summer.
Star striker Romelu Lukaku, who has hit 61 goals in 127 games for Everton, including 25 goals in all competitions last season, may be looking to leave Goodison Park in order to play Champions League football.
A host of clubs would no doubt love to sign the Belgian hitman, and Everton must look to possible replacements in case Lukaku does leave – with one target emerging already.
Tutto Mercato Web report that the Toffees have an interest in Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar, but have yet to open talks with the Serie A club about a deal.
The 23-year-old striker hit just seven goals last season in 24 appearances, though only 15 games were as a starter for Fiorentina as he had to sit behind Nikola Kalinic.
However, it’s claimed that Everton have identified Babacar as a player who could replace Lukaku this summer, offering a similar kind of threat in attack.
Babacar is a strong, powerful and pacey attacker who has had promise for many years, but now it’s time to deliver – and that may well be his remit on Merseyside next season.
