The former Nottingham Forest youngster and Germany under-21 international is set to leave VfL Bochum.

Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben and VfL Bochum’s Felix Bastians in action

Former Nottingham Forest player and reported Fulham transfer target is said to be on his way out of current club VfL Bochum – and is keen on a potential return to England.

This is according to SportBild, who reported the news last night.

They claim that Bastians is hopeful of a move away from the club this summer and that Hamburg are interested in his services. They also state that English clubs are keen. Whilst they didn’t name any, Fulham were linked with the player last month.

Felix Bastians – Nottingham Forest warms up

Fussball Transfers reported that Fulham want to sign both Bocum players Bastians and Simon Terodde in the summer to strengthen their hopes of a promotion charge in the Championship next term.

Bastians will likely be remembered by one Championship club. The German spent five years with Nottingham Forest but never established himself in the first-team at the club.

He has been converted into a centre-back this season but can also play at left-back, left-wing or in the centre of midfield – positions Forest will be more accustomed to seeing him.

However, he has thrived in the heart of defence and it will be interesting to see if he does return to England this summer.
