Arsenal's Mesut Ozil
The Sun is reporting that German giants Bayern Munich are targeting Arsenal star Mesut Ozil, after the German put contract talks on hold until after Euro 2016.
Ozil, 27, has two years left on his current deal, and the newspaper claims that he has rebuffed the club's advances regarding his future for the second time, insisting that he does not want anything to get in the way of his preparations for the Euros.
Would Ozil consider joining Bayern Munich?
The Sun also suggests that Ozil wants to spend the prime years of his career at a trophy winning club, and whether or not a new contract is signed will depend heavily on the ambition Arsene Wenger shows in the transfer window, and in turn, the calibre of player he brings into the Emirates.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will have his work cut out to hold onto his prized asset
The former Real Madrid man has become one of the most highly sought-after playmakers in the game, with his vision and ability to play defence-splitting passes is a highly valued commodity, and Arsenal will be desperate to keep hold of their man.
Germany and Arsenal player Mesut Ozil's future is under intense scrutiny
The Times reports that the Gunners are willing to offer the German a deal worth in the region of £200,000. Whether or not money alone will be enough to tempt Ozil to stay in London is another matter entirely.
