Report: Heerenveen join race to sign Nottingham Forest striker Lars Veldwijk

The Dutch side are keen on the Forest striker, who impressed on loan at PEC Zwolle last season.

Another Eredivisie club is said to be entering the race to sign Nottingham Forest striker Lars Veldwijk this summer, according to a report from FeanOnline.

The report claims that Heerenveen are looking at bringing the Forest striker to the club to improve their attacking resources after his impressive season with PEC Zwolle in the Dutch top-flight.

Zwolle are also said to be keen on player but the report suggests they cannot afford to bring him in permanently and that Heerenveen are in a better situation in regards to bringing him to the club on a permanent deal.

Veldwijk has had a great season in Dutch football. He has scored 14 goals in 35 appearances for the club this season and has been one of the Eredivisie’s best strikers in 2015-16.

The Dutchman struggled at Nottingham Forest, failing to score in his debut season with the club and it looked as though Dougie Freedman was happy to let him go.

However, whether or not whoever takes over at Forest is also keen on letting him depart so easily will remain to be seen.
