Southampton have finished an excellent Premier League season in sixth place and will be looking to play European football next season after a fantastic campaign.

They ended the season ahead of such regular top teams as Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton and only three points off the Champions League places.

The club has been on a magnificent rise back to the top since there time in League One and in administration.

Now Ronald Koeman, the manager that has led them to this brilliant campaign, has shared this picture on his official Twitter account with three people key to Southampton’s success:

That is of course Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino, former Saints manager Nigel Adkins and Katharina Liebherr, the club’s owner.

Pochettino led Southampton’s playing style revival in the Premier League whilst Adkins guided the club back to the top-flight from League One. Liebherr is the daughter of the late Markus Liebherr, whose millions saved the club from extinction.

Along with Koeman this quartet, who were pictured at goalkeeper Kelvin Davis’ testimonial evening, have worked wonders to bring Southampton back to the top echelons of the English game after being on the brink of oblivion.
