According to the print edition of major German newspaper Sport Bild, as noted by Spox, Stoke City and Newcastle United are keen on Hoffenheim centre back Ermin Bicakcic.
Bicakcic, 26, was on the books with Stuttgart before making his name with Eintracht Braunschweig, and his form earned him a move to Hoffenheim in the summer of 2014.
The Bosnian centre back featured for his country at the 2014 World Cup, and has since been a regular for Hoffenheim, making almost 50 appearances in the last two seasons.
Now, whilst Hoffenheim have saved themselves from relegation under 28-year-old manager Julian Nagelsmann, Bicakcic is being linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side, with English clubs allegedly interested in signing him this summer.
The Magpies have seen Chancel Mbemba and Jamaal Lascelles show promise in recent weeks, but with Steven Taylor out of contract and Fabricio Coloccini ageing, they could stand to add another central defender this summer - and with both Bundesliga and international experience, Bicakcic could fit the bill.
Meanwhile, Stoke struggled to replace Ryan Shawcross when the talismanic defender suffered with injuries earlier this season, and Mark Hughes may look to add further depth in the heart of his defence, with Bicakcic seemingly on his radar.
