Robbie Savage critical of Arsenal’s performance against Manchester City

Arsenal failed to win against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Former Leicester City and Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage said on BBC 5 live Sport on Sunday evening (17:17) that Arsenal were "lacklustre" against Manchester City.

The former Wales international made the comments around the hour mark of the Premier League game at the Etihad Stadium.

The Gunners were 2-1 down at the stage, and they eventually scored the equaliser through Alexis Sanchez on 68 minutes.

“Arsenal have had a week off,” said Savage on BBC 5 live Sport on Sunday evening (17:17). “They should be going for it, buzzing around, inspired by that earlier Spurs result. But instead the Gunners have been so lacklustre. Joe Hart's had one shot to save.”

Arsenal’s overall performance against City left much to be desired, although the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Gunners still have a chance of finishing second in the Premier League table this season, but it is out of their hands.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening, hosts City had 57% of the possession, took 14 shots of which three were on target, and earned three corners.

Arsene Wenger’s side had 43% of the possession, took five shots of which two were on target, and earned two corners.
