Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has suggested in The Sunday Times that Arsenal should make a move for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.
Lukaku is 22 years of age and has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League.
The Belgium international has scored 18 goals and created 49 chances in 35 Premier League appearances for Everton this season.
Former Liverpool and Rangers midfielder Souness believes that Lukaku would be a good signing for Arsenal.
“They need a centre-back to replace Per Mertesacker and a goalscorer — Romelu Lukaku is worth considering,” the former Scotland international wrote in The Sunday Times. “If they need to spend £100m to get them, they should.”
Lukaku struggled to make an impact at Chelsea, but in the last two or three seasons he has done brilliantly.
The former Anderlecht striker is still 22 years of age, which means that he will improve and develop in the coming years.
Arsenal may not be able to sign top-qualify and world-class strikers in the summer transfer window, and perhaps they should make a move for the talented Lukaku, whose current contract with Everton runs until June 2019.
