Klopp won’t want superstars at Liverpool, believes Owen Hargreaves

The Liverpool manager is expected to be busy in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to BT Sport's Fletch and Sav, broadcast May 7th, Owen Hargreaves says he believes Jurgen Klopp won’t want to sign superstars for Liverpool this summer.

The Reds boss is expected to be busy in the summer transfer window as he moulds the squad to better suit his needs.

They have already been linked with a number of players, including stars from both Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

The German has regularly signed players that can be developed rather than established stars though, and Hargreaves believes he won’t look to bring superstars to Anfield.

“He signed Aubameyang, Reus and Mkhitaryan, arguably [one of] the best front three in football,” he told Fletch and Sav.

“I don’t think he wants superstars; he wants to make a superstar. If you’re a Liverpool fan, be excited, they’re building something special.”

While everyone has an eye on who will be arriving at Liverpool this summer, who could leave is equally intriguing.

Christian Benteke looks destined to leave, while there are also questions over the likes of Martin Skrtel, Alberto Moreno and Joe Allen.

Even more surprising exits could be on the cards, with the future of star forward Daniel Sturridge having been brought into doubt over the last few months.

He has found himself out of the team as Divock Origi has shone and it will be interesting to see if that is a situation he is happy with long term.
