Report: Leeds, Preston and Sheffield United join the chase for 25-goal Kane Hemmings

The Dundee striker is hot property for the summer.

Leeds United are said to have joined the growing troupe of Football League teams interested in signing Kane Hemmings this summer – along with Sheffield United and Preston North End.

The Evening Telegraph has reported today that Leeds, Preston and Sheffield United have all sent scouts to check out the striker this season after his excellent form in the Scottish top-flight.

Leeds, who are also said to be watching his Dundee team-mate Greg Stewart, need another striking option for next season with Mirco Antenucci set to leave and options already thin.

Preston would like to forge another push toward the play-off places next term and another striker would be welcomed whilst Sheffield United are looking for that missing ingredient in their promotion push.

Hemmings has had a strong season in Scotland after joining from Barnsley in the summer. He has scored 25 goals in 38 games for the club and there is little wonder why Football League clubs are interested in the player.

Leeds, Preston and Sheffield United are not alone in his pursuit. Aston Villa, QPR, Derby, Bolton, Burton Albion and ex-club Barnsley are also said to be interested.
