Report: Sheffield Wednesday want non-league striker Ashley Nadesan after 55-goal season

Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly joined the race for Horley Town striker Ashley Nadesan.

According to the Daily Mail, Sheffield Wednesday are battling Premier League clubs Bournemouth and Norwich City for the signing of Horley Town striker Ashley Nadesan.

The Owls are on course for a place in the Championship play-offs, with Carlos Carvalhal enjoying a superb first season at Hillsborough - but he will still be looking for new signings in the summer.

Up front, Carvalhal can call upon the likes of Gary Hooper, Lucas Joao and Atdhe Nuhiu, but it appears that he is still keen to bring in another striker to boost his ranks ahead of next season.

The Daily Mail report that Wednesday have joined the race to sign Horley Town goal machine Ashley Nadesan, having scouted him recently.

Nadsean, 22, has smashed a remarkable 55 goals in non-league football this season, following on from 42 goals last season, all of which has made him the latest non-league sensation as clubs search for the next Jamie Vardy - ironically a player let go by Wednesday.

Nadesan has received offers to train with two Premier League clubs already, with Bournemouth and Norwich City keen to make moves to land the young forward this summer.

Now though, Sheffield Wednesday are believed to be in the race for Nadesan's signature, and the greater chances of first-team football at Hillsborough could really help the Owls.
