Plymouth face competition for loan star Jamille Matt

HITC Sport understands Plymouth could face competition for loan star this summer.

A number of clubs are eyeing a move for Plymouth Argyle loan star Jamille Matt this summer after his impressive displays at Home Park, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Matt has scored four goals in six games for Plymouth since joining the club on loan last month to help boost their bid for promotion from League Two.

Plymouth are understood to be keen to turn Matt's loan move into a permanent deal, but the striker's performances have not gone unnoticed elsewhere.

Plymouth's League Two rivals Bristol Rovers and Scottish Premiership side Motherwell are also thought to be keen on landing Matt at the end of the season.

Former Kidderminster forward Matt is out of contract this summer and he is expected to leave Fleetwood on a free transfer.

Matt has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the Fleetwood side this season and he spent a two-month spell on loan at Stevenage earlier this season.

The 26-year-old scored one goal in eight appearances during his time at Stevenage before returning to Fleetwood in January and it seems his spell at Highbury will come to an end this summer.
