The Pescara star has been a revelation in Italy this season.
The hard-working and passionate forward has taken Serie B by storm this season and is leading Pescara on a promotion charge.
He scored his 22nd goal of the season last night as Pescara defeated Cesena to move up to third in the league.
His goal proved the winner in a 1-0 triumph and what a goal it was. He latched onto a delightful pass from Cristian Pasquato to score a stunning overhead kick.
“My goal? Pasquato put in a ball with rotation. I was in bad shape with my body, I tried the overhead and it went well.
“The future? I do enjoy the interest at the moment, but I only care about Pescara.”
It was first rumoured last week that Tottenham were keen on the player. La Gazzetta dello Sport reported, as relayed by Calcio Mercato, that Spurs had joined the race for the player.
“If we do not get promoted then he is likely to leave.
“Leicester and Tottenham have been following him and their observers have been to Pescara several times.”
The 26-year-old striker, who can play for Italy or Peru, has come through the ranks in lower league football in Italy. He joined Pescara in the summer after his contract with Parma was expunged in their bankruptcy.
Tottenham and Leicester are likely to have plenty of competition for the player’s signature if they are to make a move for him this summer.
But whoever does get their hands on Lapadula will have a cult hero in waiting.
