Pep Guardiola has heart set on on Thiago reunion

HITC Sport understands that new Manchester City boss wants midfielder...again

Pep Guardiola has told his Manchester City’s bosses that he wants to bring Thiago with him from Bayern Munich this summer, HITC Sport understands.

The Spanish international is known to be one of Guardiola favourite players – and has given him his debut on no less than three occasions, with Barcelona, Barcelona B and Bayern Munich.

The 24-year-old Italian-born creator was spotted by Guardiola not long after he was appointed coach of the second team and he drafted him in after just a few months. He followed him to the senior team before then becoming one of his first signings when he was appointed Bayern coach in the summer of 2013.

At that time, Thiago – who was born in Italy and whose father is father former Brazilian ace Mazinho – almost signed for Manchester United and now he could very well seal a move to the Cottonopolis, but it will be with the Blue side.

We understand that Guardiola – like when he left Barcelona – has told his Bayern bosses that he will not be looking to plunder the Allianz Arena upon his departure but he is understood to have made it clear that he wants his most trusted lieutenant Thiago in his ranks - the only player who followed him from Barcelona to Bayern Munich.

Bayern paid Barcelona more than £20million for Thiago to land him, and now to prize him away City will have to pay more than £30million to land him.

Sources have confirmed to HITC Sport that Guardiola has agreed to a number of big-name exits from the Etihad Stadium, and it is understood that as well as Yaya Toure and England number one Joe Hart – club captain Vincent Kompany could also be allowed to leave, if an offer comes in.
