Photos: Protesting Aston Villa fans make their feelings towards Randy Lerner clear

Aston Villa lost 2-1 to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Aston Villa narrowly escaped relegation to the Championship on Saturday, but after a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth, that is edging ever closer.

Had Norwich City bettered Villa's result whilst playing at Crystal Palace, Villa would've been relegated - but Norwich's 1-0 defeat coupled with Villa's 2-1 loss means that Villa get a stay of execution.

Steve Cook and Josh King put Bournemouth 2-0 up, and whilst Jordan Ayew pulled one back for Villa, it was another dismal day for the Villa Park club.

Interim boss Eric Black is merely overseeing matters until the end of the season, where Villa will be preparing for the Championship - and fans hope there are more changes to come.

Owner Randy Lerner has come in for stern criticism for his running of the club, having seen Remi Garde arrive as manager and leave in the same season, whilst executives Tom Fox and Hendrik Almstadt were disastrous appointment and played big parts in Villa's demise.

Villa fans have clearly had enough of everything about this season and the current regime, and staged protests against Bournemouth against owner Lerner.

Below are images from the game, with banners, shirts and scarves on show against Lerner, with Villa fans letting the American know exactly what they think of him and his ownership of this once proud club, who are heading for the second tier imminently.

What did you think of Villa's performance against Bournemouth?
