Gary Lineker reacts on Twitter to Tottenham's win over Manchester United

Lineker found Tottenham's win to be laying down a marker for future success.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker was seriously impressed with the team's win over Manchester United.

Spurs turned a game which looked to be heading into a drab draw into a comprehensive 3-0 win, by scoring three times inside a dazzling five minutes spell midway through the second half.

Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld, and Erik Lamela scored the goals, with United left shell shocked.

BBC Match of the Day host Gary Lineker commented on Twitter after the game, urging Tottenham to keep the nucleus of their side together if they are to enjoy future success.

Spurs have surpassed expectations this season and sit in second place in the league, eclipsed only by Leicester's surprise run.

The win keeps them seven points behind the Foxes, with fives games remaining, and even if this year is not to be their year to lift the trophy, the message is clear, that they appear in a good position to do so in the future.
