Mizuho appoints new Chief European Economist

Mizuho International, the London-based securities and investment banking arm of the Mizuho Financial Group has appointed Christel Aranda-Hassel as Chief European Economist.

As Chief European Economist she will be responsible for delivering European macroeconomic research and analysis to Mizuho’s global client base including coverage of European economies, policy and markets. With an impressive track record of identifying market moving trends, Aranda-Hassel is an important addition to Mizuho International’s London-based independent research team.

Aranda-Hassel brings over 25 years of experience in the City to the role and joins Mizuho International after 18 years at Credit Suisse where she was most recently Senior European Economist. Prior to Credit Suisse, Aranda-Hassel was Senior European Economist at Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB).
