Lord Sugar sends message to West Ham United's owners on Twitter before crunch match, David Gold responds

West Ham United are set to host Tottenham Hotspur later this evening.

Former Tottenham Hotspur chairman Alan Sugar has asked West Ham United co-owners David Gold and Karen Brady for a favour on Twitter, ahead of the London derby tonight.

Tottenham are set to travel to Upton Park later this evening for a match which ranks as one of their biggest in recent times.

The Lilywhites will move to the top of the Premier League table if they are able to beat the Hammers, and Lord Sugar has sent out a rather optimistic request on social media.

The cheeky message from Lord Sugar did not go unnoticed.

West Ham co-chairman David Gold responded to the original tweet, suggesting that Sugar avoids watching the tie:

Tottenham’s task of winning at West Ham will be a very tough one, as Slaven Bilic’s side have lost just two of their last 18 matches.

The Hammers could also move to within one point of the top four, if they are able to pick up a victory this evening.

Spurs, though, will be determined to extend their unbeaten away record and strengthen their bid to lift the title in May.

Tottenham have become the bookies’ favourites to win the Premier League, and a win tonight would see them take a huge step closer to finishing at the top of the pile.

When West Ham and Tottenham met earlier in the season, it was Mauricio Pochettino’s side who came out on top in a 4-1 victory at White Hart Lane.
