Arsenal legend Ian Wright explains why he is jealous of Tottenham Hotspur

Ian Wright says Tottenham have a belief which Arsenal simply do not.

Arsenal's second highest ever goalscorer Ian Wright has told BBC Radio 5 Live 606 he is jealous of the Tottenham's team's belief.

Both teams are vying to win the title, but Spurs took a leap ahead this weekend as they beat Swansea City while Arsenal lost to Manchester United. Leicester City remain in first place after beating Norwich City on Saturday.

Wright said: "When that game finishes, Spurs believe something. I'm jealous of that feeling they've got."

The Gunners were disappointing in their performance at Old Trafford, lacking the winning mentality which was required as they slipped to a 3-2 win against a youthful United team.

Is there a clear reason for this?

There may be an obvious reason for Tottenham's attitude compared to Arsenal's, although that does not make it easy to redress.

Spurs are not haunted by past failures and there was no expectation on them to win the league this season. Arsenal meanwhile were favourites for the title for many even before Chelsea's campaign imploded, and United, Liverpool and City each fell off the pace.

Arsenal have come close in recent seasons but not managed to deliver, and this can only be piling on the pressure, knowing that more is expected.

It can all turn around with an Arsenal away win in the North London derby this coming weekend, but up against a fearless Spurs side, it will not be easy.
