Mauricio Pochettino comments on Tottenham's set-piece excellence

Tottenham Hotspur have scored 13 goals from set-pieces while they have only conceded four times.

Mauricio Pochettino has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that set-pieces remain an important factor for his side.

Spurs have scored 13 goals from set-pieces this season, while they have only conceded on four occasions.

Both records are the best in the Premier League, and Pochettino believes that the fact Tottenham are excelling from dead ball situations highlights the focus in his squad.

"It’s very important for us," he said. "In every game we try to do different things, and it’s a very important aspect.

"We are very happy and very pleased with the away that we work in this area. It speaks well about the team’s aggression and focus."

Tottenham’s corners that have been directed to the front post have been particularly effective, with Toby Alderweireld proving to be a major threat.

With Eriksen in their squad, Spurs also have one of the best free-kick takers in English football, so it is no surprise that they have been so effective.

Tottenham’s ability to be a threat from corners and free-kicks has helped them mount a truly wonderful campaign so far.

The Lilywhites have lost just three of the 26 Premier League matches they have played so far this season, and they currently sit in second place in the table just two points behind leaders Leicester City.
