Michael Owen and Andy Gray predict Chelsea v Newcastle

Chelsea will take on Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Chelsea will win against Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend.

Chelsea will take on the Magpies at Stamford Bridge in London on Saturday evening, and former Newcastle striker Owen believes that the Blues will pick up all three points from the encounter.

“Newcastle were good value for their win against the Baggies at St James’s Park last weekend but they will find reigning champions Chelsea a different proposition, despite the fact that the Magpies have taken more points off Chelsea (13) than any other team in the last five years,” the former Liverpool striker wrote on Betvictor.com.

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Chelsea to win to nil at 6/4.”

Former Aston Villa and Everton striker Andy Gray has also backed Chelsea to win the match against Newcastle.

“I know Chelsea re going to win this,” Gray wrote on Paddypower.com. “Newcastle have been erratic, the home side are getting better.

“If they take their form in the second half against United into this game they’ll win comfortably. Newcastle have only scored six goals away from home all season, that’s the worst record in the division. They’ve conceded 26, over two a game. They won’t be able to change that this week.”

A footnote added: “Andy’s bet: Chelsea to win 3-0 at 9/1.”

Chelsea are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 30 points from 25 matches. Guus Hiddink’s side are just seven points above the bottom three, although it is very unlikely that they will get into a relegation fight.

Meanwhile, Newcastle currently find themselves 17th in the standings with 24 points from 25 matches. The Magpies are just a point above the relegation zone and are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
