Jamie Redknapp admits Tottenham disproved his Kane comment, compares to his dad's side

Jamie Redknapp admits Tottenham Hotspur are about so much more than just Harry Kane.

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp has admitted the club have surpassed his expectations this season.

Writing for The Mail, the pundit reflected on a comment he made earlier this season that Harry Kane was the only Spurs played who excited him.

With Tottenham currently sitting second in the Premier League and in their best form for years, he admits he no longer holds the same opinion, and selected three other attackers who he rates highly.

He also remarked that Mauricio Pochettino's side are on a par with his dad Harry Redknapp's team, which reached the Champions League quarter-finals.

He said: "Earlier this season, I said that other than Harry Kane not many Tottenham players got me off my feet. How things change.

"Since then, Mauricio Pochettino has brought in Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele has really come on and Christian Eriksen has recaptured his best form.

"They look as good now as they did when they made the Champions League in 2010."

The most exciting thing about this Tottenham side, regardless of whether they win the league or not this year, is that they are just getting started.

Pochettino is in just his second season at the club, while there has been no net spend this year. Spurs will also benefit from playing in next year's Champions League, pending qualification, while their top stars are tied down to long term contracts.

With a new stadium to look forward to as well, the future is bright for Tottenham.
