Remy Cabella showed Newcastle United what they are missing last night by scoring a superb goal for Marseille against PSG.
Cabella signed for Newcastle in summer 2014 but failed to perform, and was sent on loan to the French side for the season as part of another ill-fated deal, to sign Florian Thauvin.
Thauvin was loaned back to Marseille last month but was suspended for last night's game against PSG after his red card on his return for the club a week ago, while Cabella got the start.
Cabella produced a moment of magic at the Velodrome that Newcastle fans never got to see at St James' Park, scoring a memorable goal.
He picked up the ball inside his own half, ran with the ball, skipping past an opponent, and unleashed a shot from 20 yards out which beat goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.
His goal was not enough to inspire Marseille to victory, with Angel di Maria going on to inspire PSG to a 2-1 win.
Cabella will return to Newcastle at the end of the season, and more goals like this will only be good for the club. It will see him come back full of confidence to succeed where he previously failed, or mean there will be higher bids for his signature.
Here is a look at how Newcastle fans reacted on Twitter to Cabella's goal...
