Erik Sviatchenko sends message on Facebook after Celtic defeat

Celtic lost 3-1 to Ross County in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko has taken to Facebook to express his disappointment at his side’s defeat on Sunday afternoon.

The Bhoys suffered a 3-1 defeat to Scottish Premiership rivals Ross County at Hampden Park in Glasgow in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup.

Gary Mackay-Steven scored after only 26 seconds to give Celtic the lead, but Ronny Deila’s side were reduced to 10 men in the 13th minute when Efe Ambrose was sent off for committing a foul on County's Alex Schalk in the box.

Martin Woods scored from the penalty, Paul Quinn headed a second in the 48th minute and Schalk hammered in the third on 63 minutes to wrap up a 3-1 win for Jim McIntyre’s side.

Sviatchenko, who joined Celtic from FC Midtjylland in January, did not start the match and came on as a substitute in the 14th minute.

The 24-year-old Denmark international defender has posted an emotional message on Facebook, expressing his disappointment at the final result.

Good to get my first game for Celtic FC but really disappointed that we didn't manage to get to the final. Hard work until a new important game on Wednesday #bhoys
