Sunderland accidentally call new signing Wahbi Khazri a toilet on Twitter

Not exactly the best of starts for him at Wearside...

Buying a footballer must be a right hassle. Thoroughly scouting them, then making several bids until you get accepted, contract negotiations, medicals and God knows what else you have to do.

So when you've splashed a load of money on your new player, you absolutely want your fans to know just who you've snapped up and as quickly as possible.

The thing is though that there can be a problem if your player has a name that -- if misspelled -- could cause embarrassment.

Unfortunately for Sunderland, that's exactly what happened to them when they tried to announce their new £9million signing Wahbi Khazri from Bordeaux – as reported by the Sunderland Echo.

Now, there's one word that Khazri is similar to, especially if you misspell it... just have a look at what Sunderland did on Twitter:

We're not entirely sure that calling your new signing a toilet is the best of starts, but Sam Allardyce will be hoping that the 24-year-old midfielder can help turn his team's season around.
