QPR eye late transfer window move for Oxford United star Kemar Roofe

HITC Sport understands QPR eye late move for in-demand Oxford United star.

Queens Park Rangers are eyeing a beat-the-deadline move for Oxford United midfielder Kemar Roofe, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Roofe is regarded as one of the best young talents in the lower leagues after catching the eye at Oxford.

Since arriving initially on loan last February Roofe has scored an impressive 24 goals in 49 appearances for Oxford.

The former West Bromwich Albion youngster has been in outstanding form for Oxford this season, including a match-winning performance in the FA Cup win over Swansea City earlier this month.

Roofe's performances have not gone unnoticed among clubs higher up the football pyramid and QPR have been been keeping a close eye on his situation.

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is keen to bolster his squad before the close of the transfer window after a slow start to his tenure at Loftus Road and has identified Roofe as one of his top targets.

Oxford are keen to keep hold of Roofe, but the League Two club are bracing themselves for interest in the 23-year-old before Monday's transfer deadline.
