Arsenal fan goes to extreme lengths to stop his son from supporting Liverpool

Would you do the same if your child did this?

If you're a father and a football fan, we're gonna that guess that pretty much all of you want your son or daughter to follow you and support the same team. You get to take them to their first match and tell them about all the great players you've seen play over the years.

But we reckon it's pretty devastating when your child tells you that they're not going to support the same team you do and instead decide to pick a Premier League rival or, God forbid, decide to glory support someone else.

It really must be awful. But one fan decided that he wasn't going to allow his son go down this dark path and came up with a pretty ingenious plan to stop if from happening.

Gunners supporter Paul Gardiner couldn't let his son turn his back on Arsenal and start following Liverpool, so he sent him a letter which his young'n thought was written by Alexis Sanchez and Arsene Wenger!

The letter tries to pursuade the young man that the Gunners will be sure to pick up some more silverware this season and that he should listen to his dad and support Arsenal rather than Liverpool.

"We hope we can win the league and FA Cup this year' it reads, adding 'Why would you want to support Liverpool - a club who haven't won anything in many years?" Oh, snap!

He even went as far as signing the letter by both Wenger and Sanchez just to prove it's authenticity.

Would you go to these lengths if your child turned their back on the club you've supported all your life?
