Report: Andrew Shinnie set to leave Birmingham City for Rotherham United

Andrew Shinnie will sign for Rotherham United on loan from Birmingham City, according to a report.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Andrew Shinnie is set to leave Birmingham City to join Rotherham United on loan.

Shinnie has found first team chances hard to come by this season, with Gary Rowett preferring other options.

Jon Toral has monopolised the attacking midfield spot in Birmingham’s team, leaving Shinnie to sit on the bench in most matches.

The 26-year-old has played 17 times for the Blues this term, but he has made just five league starts.

With Birmingham set to add to their squad in January, he could fall even further down the pecking order and Rotherham have acted quickly to snap him up.

The Millers are fighting against the drop, and are eager to add players to players with Championship experience to their squad.

Shinnie fits the bill, and he could be signed before Rotherham’s match against Cardiff City tomorrow, according to reports.
