Sky Sports pundit comments on Leeds and Forest’s playoff chances

Ian Holloway believes Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Queens Park Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers can all end up in the top six of the Championship.

Former Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has told Sky Sports that Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers can all finish in the top six of the Championship this season.

Holloway has also suggested that Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers can claim a playoff spot.

“Cardiff have the talent to make a push, Brentford are still hanging around and Wolves are climbing up the table,” the former QPR boss told Sky Sports.

“Reading, Leeds, Nottingham Forest, QPR, Preston and Huddersfield will all still have hopes of nicking that final play-off spot.”

Leeds are 17th in the Championship table at the moment with 32 points from 27 matches. The Whites are as many as 13 points behind Sheffield Wednesday, who are currently sixth and occupy the final playoff spot.

Forest are 12th in the standings with 35 points, while QPR are a point behind them in 15th. Wolves, who narrowly missed out on a top-six finish last season, are 10th with 37 points.

Kenny Jackett’s side and QPR are well placed to make a push for the playoffs, but they need to be consistent and win their home matches.

Leeds and Forest are big clubs, but neither of them have a team strong enough to challenge the likes of Wednesday, Burnley and Ipswich Town for the playoffs.
