Balague’s response on Barcelona’s interest in Aaron Ramsey

Barcelona have been linked with Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey.

La Liga expert Guillem Balague has rubbished speculation linking Barcelona with a move for Arsenal’s attacking midfielder Aaron Ramsey, Sky Sports report.

The La Liga expert journalist was quizzed on the matter following yet more speculation of Barcelona interest, responding: “Short and sweet - there is zero chance that is true.”

Ramsey has been at the top of his game of late, returning to the side following an injury layoff and putting in some superb midfield performances in the absence of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla.

The Wales international has been tasked with covering for the regular duo, and so far he is more than proving his credentials as long-term central midfield option for Arsene Wenger’s side.

According to a report in ESPN, Ramsey’s recent form for the Gunners hasn’t gone with recognition as the editorial once again accredit Barcelona with a firm interest in his services.

The Catalans have a history of buying players from Arsenal, with Emmanuel Petit, Marc Overmars, Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song and Thomas Vermaelen among others trading North London for the Nou Camp.

However, the Ramsey rumours appear a little far fetched what with Barca currently having an abundance of talent in midfield plus Arda Turan’s presence following their transfer embargo conclusion.

The former Cardiff City ace has been making headlines in the Premier League of late and it appears that is where he will be continuing to ply his trade for the foreseeable future.
