Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony provides in-depth transfer update on Conor Washington on Twitter

Queens Park Rangers, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City, Reading and Cardiff City have all been credited with an interest in Conor Washington.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed on Twitter that he has rejected three bids for star striker Conor Washington from Championship clubs.

Washington has been linked with a host of sides in the second tier in recent weeks.

The 23-year-old is said by the South Wales Argus to be of interest to Queens Park Rangers, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City and Cardiff City.

The Daily Mail also reported that Reading had submitted a £3 million offer for Washington yesterday.

However, MacAnthony says that all bids for the former Newport County man have not met his valuation, although he refused to rule out a departure altogether.

Washington has scored 12 goals in his last 13 matches, making him one of the most in form strikers in the country.

Peterborough’s next match comes against Preston North End in the FA Cup, and there has been no suggestions as yet that Washington will not play in that fixture.
